By removing excess fat and skin, the procedure reduces wrinkles and reshapes the area around the eyes, offering a more refreshed and youthful appearance. Lower blepharoplasty is ideal for those who want to refresh their look, reduce the tiredness that appears on their face and boost their confidence in a safe and effective way.

Is Lower Blepharoplasty suitable for me?
Lower blepharoplasty is indicated in cases of excess skin and fat in the lower eyelid, as well as for eyelid reconstruction due to laxity of the supporting ligament.
What should be done before surgery?
After taking a complete medical history, photographs of the area are taken and the surgical technique is determined.
It is recommended to stop smoking 4 weeks before and 2 weeks after the operation, thus reducing the chances of complications.
Use of aspirin, anticoagulants and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen should be avoided preoperatively.
What happens during surgery?
There are two types of incisions for lower blepharoplasty. The first is done on the skin just below the eyelashes and extends outwards and downwards parallel to the wrinkles at the outer corner of the eyelid. Excess fat and skin is removed, while the muscle and skin are sutured to prevent the skin from sagging. In the second case, the incision is made from the middle of the eyelid, thus avoiding an external scar. This method allows excess fat to be removed or redistributed, but skin cannot be removed.
Anesthesia: Intoxication or general anesthesia
Duration: 1.5-2 hours
Stay: Same-day surgery
What happens after surgery?
After the surgery, the first check-up is done the next day. Sleep with your head elevated and use ice for the first 48 hours. Special eye drops is recommended for 3-5 days. The stitches are removed in 5-7 days, and you can wear contact lenses in 7-14 days.
When is surgery not indicated?
People with glaucoma or dry eye should not undergo this procedure, as there is a risk of worsening their condition. Also, patients with high blood pressure, heart problems, or blood clotting disorders may experience serious complications during the surgical procedure.
What cannot be corrected with blepharoplasty?
Blepharoplasty cannot correct wrinkles around the eyes, known as "crow's feet", sagging eyebrows, very fine wrinkles on the eyelids themselves and dark circles under the eyes.
What are the possible complications?
Possible complications, as in any surgery, exist, but with the correct surgical technique and careful pre-operative planning, they are controllable and limited in incidence. Some possible complications are: bleeding – hematoma, excessive skin or fat removal, conjunctivitis, inflammation, ectropion, misshapen scar
