Breast augmentation
Breast augmentation is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures offered by Geoderma Clinic. It's goal is to increase breast volume using silicone implants, offering a more natural and attractive result. There are two basic types of inserts: round and anatomical. Round inserts are often preferred, as they maintain the shape of the breast even with slight movement. The size, projection and diameter of the base of the inserts are important factors in the final result. The choice is made in combination with your wishes and the objective opinion of the surgeon, based on your physical characteristics. Trust the experience and know-how of Geoderma Clinic for safe and successful results in breast augmentation.

What should be done before surgery?
After a complete medical history is taken, photographs of the area are taken and the doctor determines the appropriate surgical technique. Pre-operative breast examination with ultrasound or mammography is necessary.
It is generally recommended that you stop smoking 4 weeks before and 2 weeks after surgery to reduce the risk of complications. Also, the use of aspirin, anticoagulants and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen should be avoided before surgery.
What happens during surgery?
First, the incision is drawn with the patient in an upright position. The incision can be made either in the fold under the breast (inframammary incision) or around the areola (perimammary incision), aiming to be as discreet as possible. During the operation, a "pocket" is created either behind the mammary gland or under the pectoral muscle, where the implants are placed. In the dual-plane technique, the insert is placed partially under the muscle and partially under the mammary gland, providing a harmonious and natural result, especially in cases of breast droop.
After the implants are placed, the incisions are sutured and adhesive tapes and a special sports bra are applied.
Anesthesia: General anesthesia
Duration: 1-1.5 hours
Stay: One-Day surgery or up to one day
What happens after surgery?
After the operation, the stay may not be necessary, but it does not exceed 24 hours. The wound is covered with gauze for about 2 weeks, while the use of a special sports bra is necessary for 6 weeks. Exercise and weight lifting are allowed after 6 weeks. Breastfeeding is not affected and imaging tests to prevent breast cancer are carried out normally. The final result begins to be appreciated after 3 months.
What are potential complications?
Breast augmentation is a relatively simple operation, but like any operation there are potential complications. Some of the immediate complications may be bleeding, hematoma, wound infection, wound opening or hypoesthesia. Later complications may include capsule formation around the prosthesis, rippling, implant rupture, or extremely rarely BIA-ALCL.
